Nous allons rencontrer la star du coin, celui qu'on vient voir de loin, pour lequel on paye une fortune. Celui qui est photographié sous tous les angles et fait la une de tous les magazines: le glacier Perito Moreno. Magnifique même sous la pluie, le glacier offre un spectacle époustouflant! Malgré toutes les photos que nous avons pu voir, c'est sur place qu'on se rend compte de sa force et de son immensité. On entend d'abord des blocs qui se détachent, puis admire le spectacle. Nous nous savons chanceux de pouvoir assister à un tel spectacle de la nature et pourrions rester là des heures. Après 2h d'observation, l'aventure continue: nous nous approchons du glacier en bateau, chaussons nos crampons et suivons le guide pour 1h30 d'émerveillement au coeur du Perito Moreno. Se geler les mains pour boire son eau? On le fait avec plaisir! Et la surprise à la fin de l'excursion? Whisky on the rock!
Today is the day: we're going to the Perito Moreno glacier, one of the reasons why I really wanted to go to Patagonia! We've seen lots of pictures, but you cannot understand what it is before you get there. We feel tiny next to this giant of ice. We stare at it, wait for the blocs to drop in the lake, watch and listen to the show. And the experience doesn't stop there: we are boarding a boat, getting closer and next thing we know: we're walking on it! Of course we knew, we booked it, read guide books and promotional leaflets about it, listened to other travellers share their experience, and yet the whole thing seems surreal. A once in a lifetime experience we enjoyed every second of, never mind the wind, cold and rain.
